Frank Aandi has, as always, summed up the magnitude of your task very succinctly. Generally, the second column represents Unicode hex characters, as you've indicated, and the first one refers to your internal index. Unicode would suggest that we have a single standard for character representation in output, but the fact is you'll find different conventions for a lot of vendors. Adobe's CID-Keyed standard is relatively transparent, but few vendors apper to follow this stadard. Finally, PostScript-generating applications, as Aandi indicated, can re-encode on the fly ... Good luck with it, Gunnar
