Trajan I have to wonder if referring to a printable postscript image as a "PrintingLib" is idiosyncratic to your RIP. As I mentioned, the only reference to it is Mac-specific. The name also implies that it is a library rather than a printable image. At any rate (this is the pragmatist rather than the theorist speaking), if your RIP handles it, then it's a question of money: if you can afford to upgrade the RIP, then go ahead.
