Seventy-thousand unwanted bounding boxes.

The company I work has just dropped 70,000 .eps files in my lap and asked for a way to remove the bounding box from them. The company sells logos for embroidery/engraving, and the problem is that any time something is emboidered or engraved the logo always has a box around it. I'm new to postscript languages and I'm wondering if there is a way to write a program to filter through the files and remove all the bounding boxes. Or perhaps there is a way to make Coral, Adobe, or other viewing/editing programs do this in one sweep?

This is in general extremely difficult to do even to one file at a
time, identifying a drawn box.

BUT, if the files are all from one source, you may be able to identify
a repeated pattern used in all the files to draw the box, and filter
for that.

One would wonder why they would drop such a project onto your lap!

Hi,

Our ps2vector software can help you with this. It's a batch tool, and it automatically calculates the drawn box (i.e. the outer perimeters of the graphics) of an EPS file, instead of using its given bounding box. If interested, please contact me directly via email and send me a couple of sample EPS files for testing. More info about our company and software is at the URL below.
