This doesn't really sound like a question about PostScript
programming, if I understand it right, but about the program you use
to create PostScript files. How are you making the file now?

I create PostScript files by simply "Print as file" command under my layout program (Xpress or InDesign - i'm on a macintosh platform).

Thanks,
Jerome

So you do this manually? I think you will have to type in the data
manually too. Or is there an automation process somewhere between you
and Distiller?

I have 2 solutions, or I create manually the PostScript file in a folder where Distiller look to make PDF or I using a printer I have configure on my server under Windows NT4 by using PDF Port.
Thanks,
Jerome

If you are using the PDF Port, that is automatic and there's no option
to add a name. That leaves watched folder for your copy of Distiller
Server (I assume it is Distiller Server).

You could perhaps AppleScript the naming of the file before putting it
in the watched folder.
