What is the best way to get the title (%%TITLE) from a postscript file? Is the %%TRAILER keyword mandatory in a postscript file? Is the following statement true? : The correct %%TITLE is either the last one appearing in any trailers or the one at the beginning of the file. I hope you can help me Peter

Bear in mind it is %%Title: - always mixed case like that, always a colon after Title. You should search the comments at the start. There is no title unless the %%Title: is present. The comments continue until %%EndComments, or until the first non-comment line (that is, the first line which does not start with a % sign - not just %%). If and only if you find %%Title: (atend) you should go to the end of the document and search for %%Trailer than look for a %%Title there. These and more questions are answered in the DSC reference, which you should find on http://partners.adobe.com/ > ASN > Technotes > PostScript. Aandi Inston
