Ok, I've been doing my homework but still can't shake this thing out. So I'm putting the thing below.. It's one .eps file copied and concatenated to itself. By itself -before I add any changes- it doesn't print. But when I add a "showpage" at the end of each respective file, I get two un-duplexed pages. So then I go ahead and add a "save /showpage {} def" at the beginning of each respective file, and a "restore
%%BeginFeature:
<</Duplex true /Tumble false>>
%%EndFeature
showpage" at the end of each respective file, and the thing still doesn't duplex. (I had my additions in red, but I lost it here). So, anybody want to try their hand at adding something below to make this thing duplex?
Patiently and expectantly enduring,
Don Volent

1. Although it may not be the cause of the problems, it is not usual
to edit the EPS contents in this way. EPS is usually treated as black
box, and its lines untouched. So, while using
save
/showpage {} def
...
restore
is a good (in fact, a necessary) part of working with EPS, it usually
wraps around the whole file.
2. Working with an EPS it is usually considered good practice to also
reset the graphics state as recommended by the EPS specification.
3. You use the sequence:
restore
%%BeginFeature:
<</Duplex true /Tumble false>>
%%EndFeature
showpage
but that will do nothing. The line with /Duplex is a parameter
dictionary for setpagedevice, but setpagedevice is missing. So the
dictionary does nothing. Setpagedevice erases the page so it must
PRECEDE the EPS.
Furthermore, calling setpagedevice may reset the duplex state. Call it
once only.
