I have an EPS file generated with Photoshop that we had used for over
a year without a problem. However recently as our volumes have gone up
we've started to get the following error:

I've made a much smaller postscript program that basically does a loop
of n times. In the loop I place the EPS file at the same place on the
page and call showpage. (code is at the bottom of message).

In Adobe Distiller 8 This works fine for 2038 iterations of this loop.
On the 2039th iteration it dies with the same error.

The same code works in ghostscript and PSAlter.

Does anybody have any suggestions how I should troubleshoot this or
work around it? This seems like a bug either in the Adobe RIP or the
original EPS file.
