We have various reports on a PS2 printer using using the copypage command to print two pages of the same page. However this copypage command doesn't work under our new PS3 printers. In the PS3 language reference under the showpage command (p690) there is mention of a possible workaround. This workaround relies on redefining of the endpage procedure so that the endpage procedure doesn't perform the equivalent of the erasepage operation. Has anyone ever used needed to replace a PS2 copypage command in a similar manner?

That isn't a possible work-around. Ultimately, showpage will always erase the page. The principle is to make each page independent, and there is no way to trick it. There are sound reasons for this annoying change, particularly if you ever convert the file to PDF (and who can be sure this will never happen). In PDF there is no copypage, so each page has to contain all of the contents for EVERY preceding page, causing exponential growth in the file size. If you want to support level 3 printers you have to face the problem head on and rewrite to make each page mark all contents. Just make the common contents of the page into a procedure and call for each page. Aandi Inston
