Gents,

I would like to learn a bit about the workings of the Discrete Cosine Transform technique, e.g. math background, PS implementation, etc; beyond 5116.DCT_Filter.pdf and TN5603.Filters.pdf which only discuss the usage of DCT filters.

I am sure there is some good report on DCT basics somewhere at Adobe's but their knowledgebase does not seem to cover PS at all. Could you give me a hint where I might find this info?

There isn't much from Adobe, since the techniques are standard, and
well defined by the JPEG group. I did find the format (ISO?) standard
for JPEG on the web somewhere but I can't recall where.

Thanks Aandi, I think that google will be a good place to start.

Thanks
