help on how to add a "form" to my PS Printer Driver?

I'd like to add a custom, named, page-size to my PS Printer Driver. It will be used to print from MS Office apps to PS -- and thru to Acrobat Distiller (so would I need to be able to edit Distiller's page settings as well, or is it the same driver -- I'm a bit confused on that one?).

Someone in another forum suggested making a copy of the PPD and editing it to declare my new page type. Does anyone have any info where I can find details on how to do such a thing and/or additional tips to help me do what I'm trying to accomplish?

I've tried changing the printer driver's PageLength and PageWidth on the fly (using the DEVMODE struct), but apparently Adobe is keeping those values separate, as they're not stored where one would expect them to be.

Thanks in advance!

NT/2000 (could force 2000, if necessary)

BTW: I'm trying to basically do what is mentioned in http://support.adobe.com/devsup/devsup.nsf/docs/52124.htm <http://support.adobe.com/devsup/devsup.nsf/docs/52124.htm> (third option), but that doesn't work. At least following the sample code with a "SetPrinter" (even as Administrator) doesn't actually save the Length & Width values to the settings! Anyone know why???

Thanks,
AJ

I don't know the technical details but this might help: to use a
custom form size on Windows 2000 it not only has to be offered by the
driver (either as a specific size or the possibility of custom sizes);
it also has to be defined as a system-wide form.

Have you tried defining a system-wide form for the required size?

I only know how to do it as an end-user. Nevertheless you should try
it, and see if your code then works. If so, you may be able to find
how to do it programmatically.

Printers Control Panel; File > Server properties.
