This task is best done outside of Acrobat. Use a DTP or page make-up
tool to create a 500 page book by placing the graphics on each page,
and add your captions and annotations.

Once you have a document ready, simply print it to PDF. Be sure to
keep the document to allow revision.

Thanks Aandi for your quick reply but I am thinking of a situation where we have thousands of book and through DTP tools it will be a manual work and a wastege of time. I am looking at a solution where I can print page one by one to Acrobat printer through programme (Like Visual Basic) and we get a single PDF file as a output for one book with annotaions(Which are on TIFF images).

You can do it that way. In effect, your Visual Basic program *is* the
DTP tool. You have to read the TIFF files, extract the pixel and
colour data, and "print" from VB. You also "print" the text. Acrobat
picks up what you print.

Bear in mind, though, that some DTP tools are highly automatable, so
automating the assembly that way might be less work.

If your Visual Basic program reads one TIFF, prints it and closes the
print stream it will make separate PDFs. You need to modify the
program to open the print stream, and keep it open while printing all
the files. If you close the print stream, Acrobat will always make
separate PDFs.

Alternatively, you could use Acrobat programmatically to join the
PDFs.

If you run the program over and over, printing an image each time, you
have to modify it to open the print stream, process ALL files, then
close the stream.

Setting the page size in a Windows application is standard Windows/VB
coding.

What API or method is generating that error? This whole discussion
seems to have wandered very far from the forum's subject...
