Photos mysteriously moving between PS and PDF!?

For the past 5 years I have been creating my magazines with the same process (updated programs of course) and have NEVER had this problem before. In this last book I made, photos were mysteriously lost, and replaced with photos from another page. This only happened with one page, and I can't figure out where the problem is.

-My pagemaker file is correct. The correct photos are all where they need to be.

-When I put the book together in pagemaker it, too, is correct. All photos where they need to be.

* When I make a post script file of my magazine and convert it to a pdf 3 photos from page 89 are lost in never-never land, and replaced with 3 random photos from 88. These photos are not linked to each other in any way. The two pages are not even from the same original file.

Can anyone tell me where the problem is so I can fix it before my next magazine?

I recommend that you re-post this in the appropriate PageMaker forum since the issue relates to that application. Be prepared to post your files someplace where participants in the forum can find them. Also advise as to what versions of PageMaker and Acrobat you are using and settings such as joboptions. The issue is least likely anything to do with PostScript or for that matter, the conversion of PostScript to PDF, but rather, PageMaker's generation of PostScript (not "post script").

This is easy to check.
View the file using a PostScript viewer, for instance Ghostscript with
X11 or display bask end, or print it on a PostScript printer.
