Hi - I have requirement to process data elements from a post script files. Currently I am doing string parsing...which needless to say is painfull and hard to maintain. I wanted to know if there are any libraries (open source, commercial) which would help me to process the data elements from post script file. Even if there are tools which would convert the PS files to meaningfull readble data like CSV files, XML files would be great.

To get the data from a PostScript file requires a PostScript
interpreter; nothing else can be reliable. Consider
(careful) 2 { (really ) } repeat (Please be ) show show show show
as a simple example of why parsing cannot work properly.
Writing an interpreter is a good 2-5 man years of solid work.
There are two approaches with the interpreter: redefine operators to
track what you need, or modify the interpreter.
GhostScript is open source and free for non-commercial use.
