how to fill a complex path ?

i would like to
fill as used in non-postscript languages (BASIC, LOGO,..)
  or
as in paint programs.
(flood fill)


the postscript fill and eofill
are, sometimes, unacceptable

have u tried to fill (or eofill) a Hilbert curve ?
u get a schizophrenic 'fill'
no good.
