Hi,
I ran across a Postscript file that fails to RIP on our Xerox DocuTechs. Looking in the Postscript file, all seems normal until, abruptly, there is a bunch of seeminly random characters. Then it goes back to normal again. Here's a sample (the text preceeding this seems like normal Postscript code, and the text after also seems normal):
[4.685953 3.498056 ] pdfxs

Could any one tell me what this is, and why it occurs?
Many thanks,
Matt Larmour

Most likely the file is damaged. You can try to run it on another PostScript interpreter such as Ghostscript or Distiller and see what happens.
