setoverprint - raster images

Hi,
I have a question concerning the application of the setoverprint parameter to raster images.

According to the Postscript Language definition does the setoverprint parameter has effect on the way raster image are typeset?

To give some context to this question: we have an application which generates postscript containing raster images. Sometimes in the graphic state setoverprint is TRUE and sometimes setoverprint is FALSE when such a raster image is included. The postscript language reference doesn't seem to state whether the overprint parameter has influence on the raster image. Can a raster image overprint?

Thanks, Benot

The effect of the overprint flag depends on the current color space
and the colorants available on the device. The graphic operation that
marks the raster memory is insignificant.

CMYK image can overprint non-primary separations.

An image in separation color space can overprint other separations
including primary separations.

DeviceN color space works as multiple separations.
