pdfmark and framemaker

Hi Everyone,

I have a question regarding pdfmark and FrameMaker. I am running Frame
7p578 on Windows 2000 with Acrobat 6 professional installed.

I have a logo in my FrameMaker document that I would like to display
when viewed as a PDF on screen but not when printing. So I used pdfmark to
create a PDF button using this code:

[ /T (button)
/Subtype /Widget
/FT /Btn
/F 36
/Rect [ 70 550 210 575]
/Ff 65537
/MK <</BG [ 1.0 1.0 1.0 ] >>
/ANN pdfmark

This works almost perfectly. It creates a white button in Acrobat that
is "hidden but printable" so on screen you don't see the button but
when you print you do.

The only problem is that I want to use the FrameMaker co-ordinates for
the location of my button and I also want to use the dimensions of the
FrameMaker text box to define the size of my button. So I changed the
code to this:

/pdfmark where { pop} { userdict /pdfmark /cleartomark load put}
ifelse
/Y exch def /X exch def
[/T (button)
/Subtype /Widget
/FT /Btn
/F 36
/Rect [ 0 0 X Y]
/Ff 65537
/MK <</BG [ 1.0 1.0 1.0 ] >>
/ANN pdfmark

This sets the dimension and location of my button perfectly, but now
my button won't mask the logo anymore when I print.

I have no experience in working with pdfmark and I have copied most of
the code from documentation that I have found online. Can anyone tell
me why my second code sample doesn't work properly?

Thanks,
Kevin
