I am trying to create page labels (page numbering style i, ii, iii, iv, 1, 2, 3, 4 etc)in a pdf file (created through distiller). As per the reference guide, I tried to insert the pagelabel operator in the postscript file, however, I have to insert this operator for each page. Is there some way I can refer page ranges (for example, pagelabel roman numbering style for page indices 1-4, etc) in postscript files? Thank you, and have a good holiday weekend!

As distiller is also a general purpose PostScript interpreter, you may
use the /EndPage procedure approach to create your page label pdfmarks.
You may easily count the pages processed and even read some configuration file specifying the numbering style and the page ranges.

But you need some knowledge about PostScript as a programming language.

Thanks for the advice. I was hoping there was an easier way out for me, but I will check out how I can use that language.
