Hello!

I want to convert old Wordstar 4 files to PDF.
Up to know i couldn't find any solution for that.

I thought i might be possible to create a postscript file,
that you can convert to pdf using ghostscript.
Do you think that possible? Or maybe someone got
another idea how to convert the Wordstar files.

Any help apreciated!

Thx in advance,
Markus

In principle any application that can print to a PostScript device can
indeed produce a file that can then be converted to a PDF. You don't
mention the platform or OS that you're working with, so it's hard to
give you any specific advice on creating the PS file.

It's Wordstar 4.0 on Windows 98.
How can i figure out if it's possible to print to Postscript?

One method is to "Add Printer" from the control panel, choosing the
option to direct its output to "FILE:" instead of a printer or
communications port. You can set it up using pretty much any PostScript
driver, but you'll probably get the best results by using one configured
for Distiller; you can download it from Adobe's website. Once the
'virtual printer' has been installed you should be able to print to it
from any application.

I think this won't work, because it's an DOS program.

I found another solution, i printed to file using a hp printer
driver from Wordstar , then i converted that PCL file to
PDF using GhostPCL.
