When printing to .ps from quark4 for use with my imposition software, I need registration "on" for the crops, but I don't want the slug line, color bar boxes, etc., they interfere with my imposition and partically show up when output. How can I just get crops, bleed & nothing else. Do I not have a choice? I can script them out of the .ps file, but it's too much work. Is this an application limitation? I think pagemaker lets you choose what the ps file adds. I may be in the wrong forum.

I think this is more of a Photoshop question than PostScript programming... Aandi Inston

But, Carol, do you really need XPress to generate any marks? Some imposition programs can add trim marks, colour bars, &c., assuming they understand the originating application's page-setup 'idioms' well enough to identify the page's orientation and origin. (The only one I've used extensively is Farrukh Imposition Publisher, which removes any marks it finds, replacing them with its own according to options chosen by the user.) Neither QX nor PageMaker allows any customization of marks 'at the front end' AFAICT. But in QX's Print dialog you can alter the offset distance from its default of 6 points -- perhaps not much use to you, as the trim marks and colour swatches will all be shifted the same distance. -- Odysseus
