Printer Rest

I have sent this very simple postscript code to an HP8100. It prints fine but the data received light stays on and will eventually timeout. I have tried sending a Ctrl+D for end of transmission after the print and this turns the light off but will eject a blank page. I have also tried adding %%EOF and %%EOT at the end but this makes no difference.

sample code:

%!

/Arial findfont 9 scalefont setfont

gsave
40 757 translate
(This is a test) 0 0 moveto show
grestore

showpage

Any suggestions?

Carol

Make sure Ctrl+D is the very, very last character. It must not be
followed by a new line character, which may make impossible to create
in some environments.

I have tried putting a control+d as the last character and made sure that there is no carriage return after.

Thanks

If it is still failing, your software/library/programming environment
is most likely adding a new line. Have you confirmed in a binary
editor that Ctrl+D is last?
