Using Distiller 5.0 on WIndows XP and a monotype CID font installed in the Resource/CIDfont directory. The line
"/F203_1 /AMC001 [/MHei-Bold] composefont"
gives the error "undefinedresource".
"(MHei-Bold) {print (\n)print}} 256 string /CIDFont resourceforall"
prints MHei-Bold, so the resource exists
"(MHei-Bold) /CIDFont resourcestatus" returns
true
-1
2
and I know that the CMap is valid as it works with other CID fonts. Inserting some print statements into the font file itself indicates that it is activated when the composefont is executed.
Any idea as to why this error is being generated ?

One thought - is Asian font support installed for Distiller? It is not the default in Western language installations of Acrobat. Aandi Inston

I believe Asian font support is included, I can access other Asian fonts (eg Munhwa) in the same manner I'm attempting to access this one. Do you mean CID font support or something different ?

Yes, I think CID support is the same thing. Do a custom reinstall to check, perhaps. Aandi Inston
