Distiller and /handleerror

Hi! I am creating PostScript code that will run under both Adobe Acrobat Distiller and real PostScript printers. I have run into an issue where I am trying to include more error reporting information by adding to /handleerror in errordict. Something like:

/OrigHandleError errodict /handleerror get def
/handleerror
{
  MyOwnFunctionHere
  OrigHandleError
}
errordict 3 1 roll put

This seems to work fine on a printer, but Distiller seems to not call /handleerror. Instead it uses its own internal error reporting function.

1. Is there a way to configure Distiller to use /handleerror in the same way a real printer uses /handleerror?

2. Is there a way to access Distiller's error reporting function so that it can be modified with additional code?

Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I haven't found a way to make Distiller do anything other than stop on
an untrapped error. But you could provide your own processing --

{
(my PS file) run
}
stopped
{
error handling code
}
if
