I'm a newbie, so don't shoot me :)

Is it possible to specify in postscript language some information about, for
example, the tray from which they have to take the paper?

Hi Alessio,

YES, if the PS printer interpreter have resources to manage this calls.
Read the PPD File Format Specification (search in the www.adobe.com PostScript Technical Notes)
