What I would like to accomplish is adding the file name to the output of a ripped PostScript file. Meaning, the file name will be seen on the film and be a part of the image that has been ripped. We currently use a preamble.ps file to control overprint and size settings information for ripped files. The preamble.ps is placed into a watched folder. The printed PostScript files are also placed into this folder. They are then ripped and the settings in the preamble.ps file are applied to the ripped output. Would it be possible to edit the preamble.ps file to also include this information?

PostScript can't get at that information. You'd need an external program to generate extra PostScript lines and add them to the code (or use RunFile). Aandi Inston
