Is it possible to render a (90 minute or more) project onto an external drive and then export to tape? This drive would be only for Premiere PRO 1.5 Project files only.

Are you asking if you can export a file to an external drive? Sure, just choose that drive in the export dialogue.

Are you asking if your system can use a file on an external drive as a source for playback to tape? My system can -- if yours can't it is not configured properly.

Well the deal is, I'm running low on gigs on all of my drives (3) and if I can start saving the Premiere projects onto a new drive (200gig or more) and then render my entire project to tape. I can hopefully avoid some sort of melt down of my PC.

Does that help?

And thanks

My answer stands. You can export to an external drive, and as long as the interface is fast enough you can stream from it to tape ...
