I created a movie file for my film which is 110 mins, the .avi file size is 24gigs. And when I export to tape VHS & DV the Audio & Video Studder but when played on Windows Media player or in Premiere 6.5 it plays fine. I would like to create DVD's to submit to festivals. But last week, I had to settle for a VHS export due to my time constraints. After reading several subjects revolving around this issue, I see that something has to be adjust in Pro but I can't understand exactly what or how to do it. Could someone give me a step by step process on how to fix this if this can be fixed.... Also I import and export using a ADS 1394 firewire card w the Breakout box. My only resource now is to export from 6.5 to tape and then import into my Roxio DVD creator (because I don't currently have Encore) And why is it there is no issue Exporting through 6.5??? Thanks to all...

But this question is regarding Pro and why I have these huge avi files. 6.5 is only used as a second option that I thought of yesterday.

Sorry, misunderstood your post. A DV AVI file is roughly 13GB per 60 minutes, so 24GB for 110 minutes is normal. What are you using to export to VHS? Does the "studder" problem also exist if you export the video to your DV camcorder or recorder?
