Dear all, I would like to use PressReady (WIN XP) with my Epson Stylus
Pro 5500 connected via USB. I know that 5500 is NOT among the (few)
supported printers, but the 5000 IS - and the difference between
driving the two models should be very little if any (the only big
difference afaik is that ESP5000 works with dyes and EPS5500 with
pigmented inks only).
Well, in fact my 5500 does work pretty well using the 5000 driver even
without doing any hack/changes to the PPD or other package files, but
it works only if connected via old plain parallel cable (LPT). If I try
to drive it via usb I get no error, no message, but it prints out
nothing (simply does not respond to the sent data).
So my question: could you imagine or suggest me a way to hack/screw
with the PressReady drivers in order to use my 5500 with USB ?
Obviously I already tried to turn every "5000" reference inside the PPD
file into "5500" but with no success. I read of peolpe who made some
similar trick to drive the 1290 with 1270 driver or so - but remember
I'm speaking of WIN version, not MAC one.
