I experienced the same thing and attribute it to PressReady media profiles having been developed before Epson went to China to produce their 1270/1280 inks. The Chinese inks are known to tend toward magenta.

I noticed the same thing with the native (RGB mode) driver.

I've solved the problem with ColorVision's profile editor Doctor Pro, which, unfortunately, is far from "free."

Doctor Pro works via Photoshop actions, and I developed an action that could be applied to all of PressReady's media -- NOT output -- profiles (to correct for the magenta shift). The corrected profiles have to be saved with the EXACT original file names.

Presumably, one could achieve similar results with other profile editing software.

I've also heard rumors to the effect that the latest batch of Chinese inks have somewhat rectified the magenta problem, but I cannot confirm this.

Seiko-Epson is a company known for products of high precision. It is alarming that they have allowed this sort of thing to occur.
