I cured my Epson 1270 from leaving black streaks on thick photopaper by very lightly misting a piece of cardstock with water and running it through the printer. I set up a special document to print that was nothing more than a few dots (periods) at a small point size placed randomly around the page. A friend cautioned that this might damage the printer, but it didn't seem to do anything but good.
