🚀 go-pugleaf

I have worked out an easy, and seamless way, to get the best of both OS worlds:

The computer is set to startup in OSX with Classic set to launch on start-up.

OSX launches more quickly -- so I can check e-mail etc. while my heavily-laden-with-special-extentions OS 9.2.2 is getting under way.

Among those Extensions, is X-Launch (Freeware) into which I have dragged icons for all of my OS9 programs.

This includes icons that are linked to second copies of Acrobat 5 and Photoshop 7 (complete with all of my OS9-only plug-ins) which are set to open in Classic.

Other copies of Acrobat and Photoshop 7 (that are set to open in OSX have their icons parked in the Dock and can be launched from there.
[Because these are two copies with the same serial number, I have to Quit out of one before opening the other; but with two separate installations (with different SNs.) you could keep both running.]

Now for the best part:

If I click on X-Launch's always-visible palette, I am immediately transported into the Classic environment.
This means that I have immediate access to the Chooser AND to the PressReady printer driver!

And the Magic Bullet? Acrobat!

Just save any CMYK file from Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign as an Adobe PDF.
Launch the OS9 copy of Acrobat 5 from X-Launch, open the PDF (from inside of Acrobat -- not by double-clicking); and print the file directly to PressReady.

And, while it is printing, carry-on with any other task in either Classic or in OSX.
