I finally read through this entire thread. I have a Konica Minolta digital printer and a few notes for the wedding invites or any invites. Heavy toner coverage will crack when scored and folded. Toner dries up the sheet extensively. We design all in-house jobs without heavy solids or solids that don't cross the fold. You learn when a few jobs get bounced. We prescore our card for our standard sizes: A7, A6, A2 foldover. Anything else has to be sent to a bindery to be scored or you have to do it by hand. I did a 4 panel (4.25 x 4) 2up on 11x17 cover. I had to hand score and before trimming. It was only 70 sheets but that's 70 sheets x 3 scores. Took me over an hour to do by hand. Most small digital printers (I have the BizHub Pro 6500) can get away with moderately heavy stock if it's one sided but duplexing heavy stock won't go. The heaviest I can print is a 12 pt C1S cover. I can get away with Strathmore 88# cover.
