Apple LW2g-driver problems/PPD-file incorrect?

Using W. 2000 and downloaded the latest generic windows driver from Adobe, severe inconsistancy arises!

My printer is an Apple LaserWriter IIg with 8M Ram. The driver is the correct v2010.113. Communication is done using ethernet and the Win 2000 Apple-talk driver.

Running printer propertys, selecting the printer sections, device settings tab, I have selected "Memory: Upgrade 8 MByte" - btw; this cryptic text should be selected for all memory sizes 8 MB or grater- max 32 MB allowed by hardware for this printer.

Obvously from the PPD-file, paper size (printable area) is limited when memory is less than 8 MB. Thus the "A4 small" paper definition that is a logical alternative then, that I guess is supposed to be the only selectable alternative with less memory, and A4 that is supposed to be selected at 8 MB.
(And exately the same with US-letter and US-leter small!)

My paper is set to A4 in apropriate selections, both for manual feed and casette.

When going into the "Printing options" - Paper format, there is a warning sign on the A4, and when "Ok":ing, there comes a warning window saying that "A4 paper selection is in conflict with the Upgrade 8 MB selection"; thus the driver says I have selected 8 Mb, but acts as if I had not!.

The exact same behaviour occurs (naturally) when the same dalogue is called open from whithin a program, (like the StarOffice.)

A close realted sign of the same problem (?) is also that when I export this printer using networking to a Win 98 computer nearby, this one will get 3 papers all named "A4" to select upon, two of them will have the reduced printable area. There should be only one A4, but one A4-small, and the default 8 Mb should allow usage of A4.

Is this a PPD-file problem? Is there a chance to get advice on solving it (and thus taking part in improving the library of PPD-files ad Adobe)?

Many thanks in advance both for answers and advice in this forum, and for any info. sent using direct E-mail; nnc(a)eta.chalmers.se
