Dirk,

The printer manufacturer is solely responsible for producing PPD files
for their devices. You must ask Epson (if you really, really think you
need one). 

FWIW, the 980 is not a Postscript device, but does use a software rip
to translate the postscript file to Epson's internal language for the
inkjet - see
