I'd like to create portable eps files from applications which don't save as eps or sometimes from applications that create eps files but with errors. I'm working under Win 2000 and I have Acrobat 5.0 and Illustrator 9.0. In particular I'm trying to create eps files from Origin6.1 which creates figures with charts and function files. I tried several methods: I installed Adobe PS printer (PS Generic Printer, I also installed the second printer Using Acrobat's Disstiller PPD file) associated it with the port FILE along with several other PS printers (HP Color LaserJet 8500PS). In properties of these printers I specified to create eps files. But the problem is when I'm trying to open the eps file created by one of these printers (in fact all of them use PScript5.dll driver) in the Illustrator 9.0, I'm always getting some warnings about fonts not present, although I use feature to outline all fonts in the Properties of the printer. The other question is to the Font Substitution Table in the printer properties. Which fonts should I substitute (I mean TTF with Type 1) or I don't need to do that? Recently  I read on Adobe forums that it's not good way to create eps files as I described above and it was suggested first to print them using distiller (creating pdf files) and then using Acrobat to save them as eps. I tried this but again I was missing some fonts, in particular, symbol font, although when I was saving the files as eps I checked the box to embed all fonts.
