Our company has two Xerox colour printers which use the PostScript comments %%For: and %%Title: to record the user and job name for auditing purposes. This worked reasonably well in Win9x, though not perfectly. There are a number of inconsistencies with the driver. Is anyone aware of a workaround? How could I encourage Adobe to fix this? What is supposed to happen is that %%For: should be set to the username, and %%Title should be set to the name of the job as reported by the application. If one chooses desination FILE: on Win2000 one gets the correct behaviour. %%Title: Microsoft Word - Document2 %%Creator: PScript5.dll Version 5.2 %%CreationDate: 5/9/2002 12:22:7 %%For: ow If one choose LPT1: on Win2000 one gets less correct behaviour: %%Title: LPT1 Job ID 9 %%Creator: PScript5.dll Version 5.2 %%CreationDate: 5/9/2002 12:22:7 %%For: ow If one chooses a Novell queue on Win2000: %%Title: Microsoft Word - Document2 %%Creator: PScript5.dll Version 5.2 %%CreationDate: 5/9/2002 12:22:7 %%For: UNKNOWN If one chooses Novell queue on Win9x: %%Title: %%Creator: PScript5.dll Version 5.2 %%CreationDate: 5/9/2002 12:22:7 %%For: ow Pieces of information get lost depending on the destination port. Grrr. Will there be a driver release which fixes this? When?
