Postscript driver and Excel spreadsheets

Okay, we use various HP Laserjet printers at the office. By default, we use the postscript driver because it has better printouts from a widely use program here.

One of our divisions uses Excel spreadsheets for reports. We've noticed that problems printing those documents began to occur about a month ago. When a job was sent to the printer, it would simply sit there saying "Processing Job," other times, it would take upwards of a half hour to print one page. On those spreadsheets, they use shadows, which seems to be what's causing trouble.

The same document that refuses to print with the PS driver will print with the PS. This problem is over multiple printers (LJ 8000n, LJ 8150, etc). I updated the 8150 PS driver yesterday to no avail (pscript5.dll v.5.02).

Any ideas?
