Hi George, thanks for the reply.

1. It's a big document: 500 pages, 5 megs.

2. There are many images (~100), all linked (not embedded).

3. The PS printer has no option for resolution; however, I get the same problem when I use Acrobat Distiller to produce a .ps. Distiller's graphic print quality is set to 1200.
