Searching Postscript Level 1 Output to a File

We are generating Postscript files using a printer queue/driver. This file contains multiple patient records, split apart by "Acct". We then have a program that goes in and searches that file for each occurrence of "Acct". It then breaks the file into smaller files at each "Acct".

The problem is that, for some unknown reason, out printer driver stopped sending ASCII text in the postscript file. It now encodes everything. We can't search the file now and the processor is failing.

Does anyone know why some printer drivers send ASCII within the postscript output file and some do not? We are at a loss on how to resolve this.
