PPDs are OK for both Mac and Windows, if used with a PostScript
driver.

What file?  A PostScript file? Made with what driver?

Do you mean that the printer comes with a Harlequin RIP?  If so, have
you installed the RIP, and does it seem to work?  This point is
crucial.

If the printer comes with a RIP, it will certainly need a RIP.
