I have a unique problem, I'm trying to find out why we are having problems printing to a Linotype-Hell Quasar Level 2, still running NT3.5.1. as the RIP workstation.

The main problems started when we Installed the latest Adobe products on the Win98SE. (Acrobat 5, Illustrator 10, Photoshop 7)

My thinking was Acrobat 5 installed the latest Level 3 driver, which I believe is not compatible with the RIP workstation.

So I downloaded the 4.26 version of Adobe Postscript Printer. But on install it asks to replace an newer file with an older. Can I replace AdobePS4.DRV version 4.50.034 with AdobePS4.drv version 4.26.0.102 and still retain compatibility with Acrobat 5 as well as 2 Postscript Level 3 copiers we use as Proofing machines?
