Is there an Adobe Driver, or anything else I could use, to download soft fonts to HP LaserJet 4ML? I have Windows XP.

No Adobe PostScript driver nor any standard operating system PostScript driver supports "permanent download" of fonts to printer memory or disk. There is very, very little if anything to be gained via printer-resident fonts and much to be lost in terms of flexibility and reliability. In the case of a LaserJet 4ML, anytime you power-cycled the printer, you would need to re-download such fonts. Furthermore, you would need custom PPD files for any computer using this printer to inform the drivers and applications that the fonts were in fact so-downloaded. In reality, you get minimal performance improvement through this route AND you would obviously need more printer memory to accommodate the downloaded fonts. That is why such downloaders have not been provided. - Dov
