My new Z65 is working great, however, when I attempted to load Adobe
Acrobat I received a installation abort and message: "Acrobat Distiller
Printer Requires Need to install PostScript Printer" Tech Support Response:
Lexmark Inkjet Printers do not have the ability to process any postscript
printer files, as the printer has no processor - it only takes the information
sent to it from the computer, which does all the image processing for
the printer. Lexmark does not have any fixes for this issue, unfortunately,
though you might want to look into software solutions that process postscript
image files and turn them into high quality bitmaps. Some fonts, like
Truetype, are 'rendered' with the computer hardware before sending to
the printer, and will print out correctly. Our printers can only still
print at the maximum bitmap resolution of the printer, though.

Bob, If you have Acrobat, then it comes with a PPD (postscript printer definition) file for the Distiller printer instance. You need to download the latest AdobePS driver for your platform. Then run the installer and use the Adist5.ppd (or Adist4.ppd for v.4 Acrobat) to create the Distiller printer instance. This is a virtual printer used for making PDFs. You can then print PDFs from Acrobat or Reader to your Lexmark using the appropriate Lexmark printer driver.

Just install the driver for a PostScript printer. That's all it's asking you to do, not change your printer. You can have many printer drivers listed and don't have to own the printer. A typical choice of PostScript printer is the Apple LaserWriter IINTX. Add it in the usual way (Add Printer icon), with your Windows CDROM at the ready. Be sure to (a) NOT print a test page and (b) NOT set this as default. Aandi Inston
