HP are probably the only source of this.

HP's web site is definitely the only source for HP's PPD files other than the CDROM (or diskette for older printers) that should have accompanied the printer in the box.

I assume you are looking for PPD files for an OS driver rather than an application.

This is the procedure I use:

1. Go to <http://www.hp.com/cposupport/eschome.html>.
   2. Enter the printer name (eg. laserjet 4500) and pick "Go".
   3. Pick Drivers and Downloads for proper printer.
   4. Pick PostScript Driver under Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
   5. Pick Download Now. Download to your disk..
   6. Run the self-extracting archive.
   7. Move the self-extracting archive into the directory you extracted it into.
   8. If necessary use "expand" to uncompress the PPD file (eg. ..\expand hp4500.pp_ hp4500.ppd).

Another possibility:

Get HP PPD files from Windows XP using the following procedure:

1. Use "Search for files and folders" to search for "hp*.ppd".
   2. Copy the resulting files to wherever you want.
