The Adobe PostScript Printer Driver AdobePS 4.3.1 for W95 and W98 U.S. English provides watermark capability for printing. The latest/current Adobe Universal PostScript Windows Driver Installer 1.06 English which creates PScript 5 for Windows XP does not appear to provide this former capability (watermark). Is there another PS driver for XP that restores this W95/W98 capability?

No, there is no other driver for PostScript under Windows 2000 / XP / Server 2003.

And there is no plan to put such a facility into the driver.

The problem is that even under the AdobePS 4.x drivers, the facility did not work that well. It didn't work at all for some applications that generated their own PostScript and passed it through the driver. Using the option to put the watermark underneath other content often totally obscured the watermark and putting it above the other content often obscured the underlying content too much.

The real issue is that PostScript does not support an attribute called transparency which is really need for real watermark support. On the other hand, one can watermark PDF files pretty well using the rubber stamp feature in conjunction with a PDF file-based watermark that is not 100% opaque.
