I have a Windows 98 machine and a QMS PS815 printer (Level 1 PS). I need version AdobePS 4.2.4. I need to reload the PPD file but the only AdobePS file I can find is 4.2.6 which will only support Level 2 and 3 PS.

You could use Microsoft's driver. Add Printer shows an 810 and 820,
one of which will probably do.

The AdobePS 4.2.4 driver did NOT support PostScript Level 1 anyway! Only the AdobePS 4.1 driver did.

You can convert PDF and Postscript to Postscript Level 1 using
Ghostscript. <http://www.ghostscript.com>
There is also a GUI: GSView
