I have the Adobe PS printer driver installation package, but I need to be able to configure and install silently. Wheere can I find the documentation for either the commandline parameters for setup.exe for the config settings for setup.lst Any help most appreciated. Dennis.

If you are in Windows 2000 or XP, I'd advise you to simply use the Microsoft packaging in INF files. Driver automation is via INF files. Aandi Inston

Thank for your help, but I don't have the INF files. I've downloaded the standard Adobe installer which is a setup.exe and a set of cab files. Also, I need this because it deals with Win9X which I also need to deploy to. Any other ideas? Thanks, Dennis.

An interesting problem. You may be stuck, since automating driver installation is done with INF files. Aandi Inston

Since WinXP contains already the Adobe Postscript driver you don't need to install the Adobe driver again. The files from Adobe are AdobePS5.dll, Adobepsu.dll and Adobepsu.hlp. The files shipped with WinXP are Pscript5.dll, Ps5ui.dll and Pscript.hlp. If you install a new PPD with Adobe driver, Adobe's files are copied to Windows but they are not used. Printing to a file and opening the resulting postscript file shows the used driver Pscript5.dll. If you rename and move the Adobe files the resulting postscipt file contains the line AdobeS5.dll. So the one-click-agreement of Adobe is rediculous. An instruction how to install printers on the command lin is found here: <http://www.windows2000faq.com/Articles/Index.cfm?ArticleID=14539> Download an INF file from a printer maufacturer and edit it for your needs. So you can make an INF file with all your printers, even for non-postscript printers with software RIPs like EPSON Stylus RIP or other.
