Print multi-layered PNG to PS driver from IE6.0

I have a web page where I stack 2 or more PNG files on top of one another. Problem is, when printing to a postscript printer/driver, only the top image shows up. Any ideas why this is and a possible remedy?

Using HP printers w/PS3 on Win2k print servers.

TIA

I most strongly suspect that the problem is in how Internet Explorer interacts with the printer driver. The driver knows nothing about PNG or layers or even the layout of the web page. The application, in this case, Internet Explorer, passes image data to the GDI which passes it to the printer driver, image by image. Perhaps, Internet Explorer is not properly parsing its page for print purposes.

Thanks Dov,

You may be right, but this works fine with a PCL driver. Problem is, we have hundreds of PS drivers deployed for thousands of users already and I was looking for a way to get around this issue. Any other suggestions?

BTW, thanks for the record response time.

Well, PCL has an imaging model different from PostScript -- PCL allows bitwise logical operations on image data (like and, or, xor, not). I guess the GDI implicitely assumes that any printer driver does follow this model.
