I'm using lprng with samba on a unix box. This works well with PostScript driver on win98, but when installing driver on XP pro I get a message : 'Network printer is not using the Adobe driver (y/n/c)'. I select yes, and install completes, test page is fine. However, The printer is not working with some software (software that works fine when using a different, local printer). Anyone got any ideas why this should be? One thing I noticed is that in xp printer properties, I cannot select a valid port - I get a windows message 'must select at least one port' and so cannot get out from the port tab. Selecting any port causes printing to fail - even for test pages and so I have to reinstall to to revert to the no port setting.
