Hi, Anyone know if Windows NT uses the Windows 2000 PS driver that was developed by Adobe and Microsoft? Thanks, Ted

The native PSCRIPT driver that comes with Windows NT 4 is not based on the same code as either the PSCRIPT 5 driver that ships with Windows 2000/XP or the AdobePS 5.x drivers available via download from Adobe for use with Adobe applications and/or output devices with PostScript implementations licensed from Adobe (i.e., not clones) under Windows NT 4. - Dov

I'm not worthy! Thanks, Dov, from what I've read you are truly the 'Yoda' of PS printing. This is a compliment. So, we just upgraded to InDesign 2 here at work. Are we allowed to download/install/use the AdobePS 5.x drivers if we print to the LexMark? I'm just confused as to how to make my situation work. We need to print double-sided letter-size documents to our LexMark from ID 2. What can/should we do? - Ted

For use with InDesign or any other Adobe application, yes. You will need to download and run the Adobe Universal Windows PostScript Driver Installer 1.0.6. It will prompt you for a PPD file for your printer. You will need to have the PPD file for your particular Lexmark printer available for this process. Don't use the Generic PostScript PPD as it is for a low-resolution monochrome printer with very little in the way of any device options (such as duplexor). - Dov
